The church of Christ of Groveport located at 5626 Groveport Rd., Groveport, Ohio 43125, had its beginning in 1965. The church began meeting in the Town Hall early that year. Charter members include: Robert and Verna Arthur, Arnold and Doris Smith, Lawrence and Mable Meadows, Richard and Roseanne Bates, Fred and Lois Deaner, and Jim and Margaret Blake. Membership totaled somewhere between 20-25. The first trustees were: Robert Arthur, James T. Blake, and Fred Deaner. The congregation purchased a building from the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church located at 434 Main St. in October/November of 1966. The first worship services at that location were held in November of 1966. Carl Finley and Darrel Adams were early preachers for the congregation. The men of the congregation accomplished much of the preaching in the early days of its history. Only three full-time preachers have served at Groveport: Ken Schott, Dana Morrison, and David Stevens. David is the current minister. In November of 1998, the congregation purchased nearly five acres of property located at 5626 Groveport Road from the Kennaw family. A new building was erected in 2001. The first worship assembly in the new building was held December 23, 2001.
